You may have noticed that some perl.org services (including www.perl.org) were unavailable for a short time this afternoon. For the past few days we've had issues in the middle of the night where one of our primary servers would grind to a halt. We believe we've isolated that to a bad disk, and have replaced the disk. We also took this opportunity to upgrade some of our networking hardware and reboot a variety of systems. Everything should be back to normal now.
www.perl.org still seems unreachable for me; I assume the bad disk wasn't the root of the problem?ReplyDelete
@bigpresh: Correct, the bad disk was one problem, but we're also having issues with our routers, where the primary one decides to lock up, and the HA setup which should result in automatic failover to the backup isn't kicking in. We are trying a variety of kernel options and other tunings to try and figure out what is going on. We hope to have it fixed soon.ReplyDelete
